Little details in black and white

Hello. Happy Weekend. How are you all doing? I'm so glad you are enjoying the return of My Vintage Life and thanks for all your comments/Facebook likes etc. And to all new followers of Little Birdie, welcome! I'm very happy to have you here.

So this weekend has seen us take down the Christmas tree and the decorations. As much as I love putting them up and the build up to the big day, I do get to the point where I can't wait to get them back in the box and start refreshing my home. I'm currently obsessing over little interior details with black and white elements, but they need to have a strong, bright colour paired with the monochrome. The pictures above all come from my Pinterest board on interior details, aren't they stunning? From the yellow tulips in a black and white vase, a bright piece of artwork or some patterned, colourful cushions, the black and white seems to make the colours stand out all the more. Inspired by this I thought I'd create a monochrome/colour corner all of my own. I also liked the idea of bringing plants and flowers into that mix, as the colours can change according to the seasons.

I'm loving the results. It's cheering up my bedroom and I can keep adding to it too. x
