Today i am one..................

Hello! Today A Little Birdie Told Me is one year old!

I don't really know why i started writing this blog, other than i wanted something that was mine to just babble on about things going on in my life. I found so many other blogs inspiring, whether they be about interior design, food, art or just general family life. Anyway, i love writing the blog and taking photographs and i've found myself noticing the smaller things so much more since i started writing it.

Life has changed for our family in huge ways over the last few years. My husband got made redundant which lead to a positive but very busy career change. I left my management job in Theatre to try and lead a quieter pace of life and hopefully be a better Mum to my little boy. We lost dear members of our family and several friends moved further afield. Hopefully the coming years will be a bit less stressful!

But looking back at the last year whilst writing A Little Birdie has made me see how many wonderful things there are in my life. We started the year quietly with just noticing the wildlife in the back garden. Then as the weather improved, we headed out to watch the plastic duck race at Hebden Bridge, trips to Scotland and Cumbria to see family, spending an amazing time at the Greenman festival with our best friends, days out to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Temple Newsam for giant bubble blowing and to the Enchanted Wood. We did a Bat Walk, made kites and garlands for Birthdays and Halloween. Pretended to be Harry Potter at the Media Museum. We met Rob Ryan and i got a new DSLR camera which i am still trying to get to grips with!

All in all, i'm pretty happy with the last year. Of course there have been ups and downs, everyone has those. But i want to thank you all for your comments over the past year. There are so many amazing bloggers out there who have constantly inspired me and supported me over this past 12 months.

Over the next year we've got quite a few adventures planned. I hope you'll keep coming back to share these with us. It's an absolute pleasure to read your comments and they make me so very happy. Thanks a million. Much love. Jen x

ps this was my Christmas present to myself - the Bird Nest plate by Donna Wilson. Love these plates - i'd like the full collection!
