My Vintage Life - Hey! Home Wrecker

Hello! It's Linda here from Hey! Homewrecker

. I started my blog over two years ago to share and document my home decorating and love of vintage. Thank you so much Jen for inviting me to share my vintage life on your lovely blog!

why do you like vintage?

I don't like vintage.... I LOVE IT! Give me lived in over brand new any day. I love that my finds have had another life, a history, someone else used to love them! I wonder what the previous owners must have been like. Loving and buying vintage is so much fun, a treasure hunt and you never know what treasures you might find.

What's your favourite vintage era?

It has to be the 1960's and 70's, the shapes, colours and patterns are so bold and playful. Our home is a mix of charity shop, car boot and hand me downs from these eras. I think it comes from happy childhood memories at my grandparents houses. I'll never forget my granny's bobbly brown sofa with wooden arm rests and the brown and orange swirly carpet.

What's your most treasured vintage piece?

Ohhhh! That's a hard one, I really don't think I can choose a favourite. I've too many things that I love for different reasons, a pink suitcase I brought home from America that belonged to my aunts friend when she was a little girl, old photographs of our parents in the 60's, the beautiful Miss Jones, my vintage sewing machine.

What is the most recent item you've bought?

On a recent charity shop outing with my mum (She loves charity shops too!) I bought a wooden letter holder with a deer on it, only problem is, letters are much bigger than they were years ago, I like to find alternative uses for things! I was given a beautiful black deer wall ornament from a friend at Christmas, when is a vintage collection ever complete?

What would you most like to find?

I've always got my eye out for a cuckcoo clock, I missed out on one in a charity shop by seconds! Gutted!! It's the thrill of the chase, maybe one day I'll be lucky enough and find the perfect one.

Thank you so much for reading about my vintage life! Thanks to my friend Kat, she took these photos for me a while back and Thanks again Jen! My Vintage Life has introduced me to so many fab blogs!
