52 Weeks of Happy (46 & 47/52)

Right, two weeks behind! Oops. Well sometimes that's just the way things go. So I'm just wrapping up two weeks into this one post. I've been so busy with the return to work, return to school, trips to Scotland and to the North Yorkshire coast that time has just disappeared from me.

So how are you all? Well I hope. Thank you so much for all your comments on my Autumn Pinterest board and I'm so pleased that it has inspired many of you to be more cheerful about the changing of the seasons. It's been such a warm summer that this drop in temperature has been a bit of a shock to the system hasn't it?

Anyway, here are this week's happy things:

^^ This was the view from my bedroom window this morning at 630am. Pretty spectacular eh? I just had to snap it as it's so beautiful, it looks almost tropical that sunset.

^^ The first pick of our Victoria plums at the Market Garden. We've got an abundance of them this year which I'm thrilled about as they are one of my favourite fruits. I've never made jam before, but I'm thinking about it.......

^^ The Boy dressed up for my Aunt's 60th Birthday Party. The theme was come dressed up as something beginning with 'M' - so he and I went as Meg and Mog. I'm not great at doing dressing up things (frankly I think it's ridiculous for grown ups) but it was a bit of a laugh and it was just fantastic catching up with my family as we don't really see enough of one another.

^^ The first of the plums were made into a simply delicious Plum and Almond Cake. Recipe is from here and is by Nigel Slater. It looks a bit underdone in this picture but it was cooked through. The plums make it so very moist and it's perfect as the first pudding for Autumn.

Have a happy week all. And a huge hello to new followers of Little Birdie, it's a pleasure to have you here. Thanks for reading. x
