My Home with Habitat
Habitat has always been in my life. My Dad was a trendy young Architect in the sixties and he furnished his flat in Glasgow with several pieces, all of which still remain in my childhood home. He instilled a love of great design in me and I can remember visits to the large Habitat store in Glasgow and dreaming of how I would furnish my home when I was a grown up.
When I first moved into a flat at University the priority for me wasn't trips to the pub, no I was straight down to Habitat to buy myself mugs, plates and cushions! Over the years I've collected many of their designs - crockery, cutlery, lighting, bedding and my dining table. There are pieces from Habitat in every room of my house.
I always look forward to seeing the new collection and this season there are some fantastic pieces. I've got quite a wishlist! At the very top of that list was the new Freda collection. Designed by Habitat's in-house team, there are aprons, spice jars, mugs and tea towels. All are in bright colours and bold floral designs with a retro feel. I liked them all immediately, but just had to treat myself to the round white tray. It's stunning and I'm so happy it's gracing my dining table. I think I'll have to get the tea towels next - wouldn't they look beautiful in a frame?
